If an emergency happens in your community, it may take emergency workers some time to get to you. You should be prepared to care for yourself and your family for at least 72 hours. By taking a few simple steps today, you can be better prepared to face a range of emergencies anytime, anywhere.

When you are making your plan consider the following:

How to safely leave

Where to reunite with family

Who will pick up the children

Where will your pets stay

What are the risks in your area

Prepare to be self sufficient.
Make sure your kit is easy to carry and has everything you need

Your emergency kit should include:

Water

Food

Battery powered torch & radio

Phone charger

First aid kit

Spare keys to car & home

Medications
